See Colorado in the Fall - great home base for mountain travel

A 2 bedroom plus loft unit covering weeks 38, 39 and 40, following the Swan Mountain Resort calendar. Set in Dillon, Colorado, it is a great home base for Fall 'leaf peeping'. 33 miles from Vail, 94 miles from Aspen and 180 miles from Crested Butte. There are many wonderful mountain passes awash in fall colors. Boreas Pass is just 14 miles away - it is a dirt road but is manageable - we have traveled it many times with an Impala and a Honda Odyssey. It ends at Como, at which time, you can drive an additional 15 minutes and visit Kenosha Pass. We usually make an overnight trip through Aspen (seeing Maroon Bells), staying in Carbondale for the night and then going over Kebler Pass which ends in Crested Butte. North of Dillon is Cataract Lake which has a trail that goes around the entire lake. There is also a trail you can take to the old Dillon reservoir. Weekly maintenance fees, as of 2026, are $1,091 per week (average $156 per night) which is a great rate for that area. Units are fully stocked with dishes, cookware, towels, etc. and cleaned weekly. We have several friends with timeshares at other locations and are continually informed that none of them match what Swan Mountain Resort provides. The loft as well as the living room have sofas that can be turned into beds, if needed. this unit also has a covered patio that looks to the west.

The resort week runs from Saturday (check in 4pm) to Saturday (check out 11am)
