This is our "go-to" spot all year round - we reserved it this year for our grandson's 13th birthday and Spring break but plans have changed.
This beautiful old hotel has been fabulously restored, if you are able-bodied it's an easy walk to Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo, and the amazing shops and restaurants in the Hillcrest neighborhood. Also very close to Little Italy. It's a great hub for exploring all of San Diego, and there's an excellent Mexican restaurant adjacent - Jimmy Carter's - where you can enjoy delicious food and a short walk back to your home away from home if you've indulged in their Happy Hour margaritas.
