Week 49 (Dec 7-14), St James's Club, two bedroom villa, sleeps 6

I am unable to use my timeshare at St James's Club in Antigua this December, 7 nights arriving on the 7th and leaving again on the 14th, so I'm offering it for rent here.

The week is in a superbly situated two-bedroom villa, number 455, right next to the Piccolo Mondo fine-dining restaurant, the spa and the multi-level adults-only pool, with a nice view of Mamora Bay (and gorgeous sunsets) from the balcony. One room has a queen-size bed with a large family bathroom adjacent, the other has two single beds with an ensuite WC/shower room, and if you want it to, the villa can sleep six if you use the sofa bed upstairs in the living room. If you really want to self-cater, the kitchen is fully equipped to allow you to do so, but in my opinion you're much better taking advantage of the US$125 per-person-per-night all-inclusive rate which allows you to eat and drink what you want, where you want and when you want, subject only to a surcharge for Piccolo Mondo (which is really lovely for a special treat) which if I remember correctly is US$30 per person. For many years, the resort has run a seven-nights-for-the-price-of-five deal on the all-inclusive as long as they know before you arrive that you'll be doing that. Yes, it is possible to pay for food as you go, but that's a pricey way to do it and it's a lot cheaper (and a whole lot easier) to take advantage of the all-inclusive rate. Other dining options include: Rainbow Garden which has great breakfast and lunch buffets and does dinner a la carte a few times a week; 7-to-11 (guess what its opening hours are); and my personal favourite (apart from Piccolo Mondo of course), Docksider, next to the bay, which does amazing themed buffets - BBQ one night, Italian another, Mexican etc - most nights. You might also be lucky and catch one of the beach barbecue nights which they put on from time to time. There's also the coffee shop, beach barbeque shack and various bars conveniently located so you're never far from being able to slake your thirst, plus a fellow with a golf cart who comes along and dispenses drinks on the beach to those who can't be bothered to drag themselves to the bar! There's Hobie Cat sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, paddleboarding, snorkelling, an on-site dive outfit, gym, tennis courts, pickleball courts, kids' club, beach volleyball, more pools than you can shake a stick at, and two lovely big beaches with warm, golden sand - One's on the sheltered Mamora Bay, the other's open to the trade winds.

You can cheerfully stay the whole week in the resort and never run out of things to do, but if you want to get out, I recommend checking out Adventure Antigua's website; we've enjoyed several brilliant days out with them.

I do hope somebody might be able to take advantage of this; if you're interested, please get in touch and I can tell you more, and send photos of and from the villa.

All the best,
Graham E
