The Shores at Lake Travis is a complete recreational community situated on more than 5,000 acres with 11 miles of Lake Travis shoreline offering powerboating; fishing; waterskiing; tennis; swimming; shuffleboard; volleyball; horseshoes; and a games room with board games, Ping-Pong, and a pool table. There are two country clubs open to the public and one nine-hole golf course close by. Austin offers the LBJ Presidential Library, several museums, musicals, theaters, and sporting events.

The Shores at Lake Travis is a purpose-built resort 36 miles northwest of Austin. The 44,000-acre lake offers a variety of water sports. On-site amenities include a swimming pool with sundeck, tennis, picnic area, barbecue pits, and volleyball and badminton courts. Guests can rent boats and waterskiing equipment. Golf is nearby.
