Our family has loved staying at Channel Island Shores. We have also exchanged for properties in Lake Tahoe, Laguna Beach, and other spots. Very easy to do either!

We have owned several deeds at this resort for 16 years, have stayed several weeks a year and rent the remaining weeks within their rental and GPX that covers the maintenance fee.
Less than 1 hour from San Diego and just over an hour drive to Los Angeles, a great spot; also directly across the street to Legoland. Check the website for all the amenities offered at this gold crown property.
We have all these deeds within the Hilton Grand Vacation Club system so may also apply any deeds into club points each year. Dont know if the deed is easily transferable to HGVC but would be a bonus and would make this purchase much more attractive as the 9280 Hilton pts are worth considerably more, especially if you have been to a Hilton marketing presentation where cost is over $45,000.
Also have every other week deeds, both even and odd, also a deed with its own HGVC club contract at Carlsbad Seapointe which may be easier to just transfer. A 10 minute walk across the parking lot from Palisades Ski Resort in Lake Tahoe - the Olympic Valley lifts, not the Alpine Meadows lifts (formerly Squaw Valley). I've done this a few times in the last few years in the first week of the year after the winter holiday break and it's been an excellent experience every time! This last year, I had guests stay with me and they paid me $700 dollars, to offset the cost of the week.

The week range is not in the winter, but the resort company (Grand Pacific Resorts) will allow you to transfer the week through their exchange Grand Pacific Exchange. It cost ~$250 to switch the week from summer to the winter, but Tahoe's also great in the summer if you don't feel like paying that extra to switch it.
